WP/HR Paragoda Kithulagoda Kanishta Vidyalaya was founded under the leadership of Mr. K.L. Weijing Appuhami as an evening English school. He was not only dedicated to providing buildings, desks, chairs, and other learning equipment, but also keen to ensure all necessary facilities for the teachers who came to serve at the newly established school. The first teacher was Mr. Siriwardhana, while the very first student was Miss K.L. Siriyalatha. According to written evidence, Mr. Weijing Appuhami, together with Ven. Batuwangala Rahula Thero, carried out correspondence with the then Minister of Education, Hon. C.W.W. Kannangara, in order to register the school under the government school system. On 31st July 1957, a permanent school building and a teacher’s quarters were constructed for Paragoda School, which until then had been operating in a temporary thatched shelter made of coconut leaves.

බප/හො පරගොඩ කිතුලගොඩ කනිෂ්ඨ විද්‍යාලය කේ.ඇල් වැයිජින් අප්පුහාමි නමැති සුධීමතාගේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් ආරම්භ වී ඇත්තේ රාත්‍රී ඉංග්‍රීසි පාසලක් වශයෙනි. ගොඩනැගිලි හා ඩෙස් පුටු ආදී ඉගෙනුම් උපකරණ සපයා දීමට පමණක් නොව අභිනව විද්‍යාලයට පැමිණෙන ගුරු භවතාගේ සියලු ප්‍රත්‍ය පහසුකම් ලබාදීමට පවා එතුමන් උත්සුක වී ඇත. සිරිවර්ධන නමැති ගුරු මහතා මුල් ගුරුවරයා වූ අතර ආරම්භක ශිෂ්‍යාව වී ඇත්තේ කේ. ඇල්. සිරියලතා නැමැත්තියයි. පාසල රජයට පවරා ගැනීමේ ප්‍රතිපත්තිය යටතේ ලියාපදිංචි පාසලක් බවට පත්කිරීමට වැයිජින් අප්පුහාමි මහතා හා බටුවන්ගල රාහුල හිමියන් එවකට අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යවරයා වූ සී. ඩබ්. ඩබ්. කන්නන්ගර මැතිතුමා සමග ලිපි හුවමාරුවක් කළ බවට ලිඛිත සාක්ෂි විද්‍යාමාන වේ. තාවකාලික පොල් අතු සෙවිලි කළ පරගොඩ විද්‍යාලයට ස්ථීර ගොඩනැගිල්ලක් හා ගුරු නිවසක් 1957.07.31 ඉදිකර ඇත.
